My name is Bryan and I’m 28 years old. I’ll begin with where I’m from since that’s where I started…
I was born in Independence, Missouri. When I say I’m from Missouri, most people want to know if I married my cousin. My usual answer is “NO, you’re thinking of Arkansas.” But having never been to Arkansas, I suppose I’m just as ignorant as anyone who has never been to Missouri; my apologies to any Arkansans that may be trying to read this.
I’m married with one kid, and by “kid” I mean 70lb bulldog named Bacon, hence the screen name. I’ve been with my wife for about 7 years now (married for three). Her name is Jill, and for the sake of clarity, she is not my cousin. Ironically, my one and only first cousin’s name is also Jill.
I’ve wrestled off and on for about 15 years. I coached at the high school level for four great years in Northern California. I’ve dabbled in BJJ. I started lifting about 1.5 years ago to relieve back and hip pain left over from a snowboarding accident. The pain is gone, so now I lift because I love it.
I’m 6’ 183lbs. That’s about 13lbs more than I was a year ago and I’m still gaining. Every man in my family is 6’2 or above and weighs at least 230 pounds. The women are even bigger. Needless to say, I’m the runt. I once attended a family reunion with my father. My nickname was “mailman’s kid.”
Outside of lifting, I’m an engineering student. I play the guitar, drums and sing in various shitty bands. I build all sorts of things from furniture to power cages. I refuse to watch television unless it’s football or fighting. I’m currently restoring a 1963 VW Bus. It’s on its side in my garage at the moment. I talk and walk in my sleep, I eat too fast and I have a hard time sitting still.
My name is Bryan. I lift, therefore I am.
