St. Wilhelm’s Nondenominational Church of S&P is a worldwide sponsor of strength and power of all sorts. The distribution of St. Wilhelm’s memberships and merchandise is intended for the purpose of promoting the church as such. Though you may find that powerlifting, weightlifting and strongman are the dominant sports within the church, St. Wilhelm’s is not dedicated to any one athletic outlet for application of strength and power. Our members come from various backgrounds and need not have huge powerlifting totals to belong. If you can crush an apple with a single hand, you qualify for membership. If you are an accomplished MMA fighter and use strength and power to dominate in the ring, you qualify for membership. If you are a top notch sprinter and have excelled through superior training methods, you qualify for membership.
Though we call ourselves a church, we have no religious affiliations. Strength and Power is our religion. We do not have a physical building. There are no meetings or agendas. Membership is merely an honor bestowed upon you through good faith. Our hope is that the church will grow large enough that each member, at some point in their life, will pass a complete stranger on the street wearing a Saint Wilhelm’s t-shirt and they will instantly know that this person has done something great, whether it be in competition or by simply achieving a hard-earned personal goal.
If you think yourself worthy to join, you must promise that once you receive your member’s t-shirt, you will make a video of yourself doing something great while wearing the shirt. You may record yourself doing a gym lift, beating someone up (in organized competition, of course), crushing objects, or performing any number of strength feats.
Videos should be uploaded to a video hosting site, preferably Youtube, and titled in the format, “St. Wilhelm’s, membership number, location, feat of strength” Try to raise the production value of your vid with some good music and email us a link once it's uploaded. We'll post your YouTube Channel in the Members Chart.
Membership is open to both male and female participants of all ages. You do not have to be gigantic in stature or obscenely strong in the absolute sense to qualify -- if you are a wee lad or lass and are pushing yourself to the limit with lesser weight than the big folk, we respect that. Just because we are non-discriminating, however, do not think that you can simply post up some pile of crap in exchange for an easy membership and t-shirt.
